How it works
Line Art
Line art, or pencil sketches, is the stage where scenes and characters are cleaned up and refined. This step offers a polished preview of how each page will look in the final version.
At this stage, characters take focus, with open illustrations that give breathing room for text and visuals. Designers should carefully review details like facial expressions, eye direction, consistent attire, and background elements.
This is the last chance to request changes before the artwork moves to color filling, locking the design.
Color Fillings
With the page layout and illustrations finalized, the next step is color filling. Some artists proceed directly to final art, while others begin with rough color work to test and refine the page’s palette without focusing on intricate details. At this stage, colors are applied in basic shades without highlights or gradients, offering a simple preview of the overall look.
This is the last opportunity to review and adjust colors before the final art is created. It’s the moment to ensure backgrounds, character details, and text placement all work together harmoniously. Any inconsistencies, such as mismatched shades or unclear text against the background, should be addressed now before the illustrator moves to the final stage.
Formatting and Publishing
Formatting is a crucial step in the book design process, as it can significantly influence the overall appeal and success of your book among readers. Our experienced team ensures your illustrations, cover design, typesetting, and formatting are tailored for Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP), paperback, and eBook formats.
Once your illustrations are finalized, we provide files that are ready for direct upload to Amazon KDP. Additionally, we handle the publishing process, delivering your book as an eBook, paperback, and hardcover, making the journey to publication seamless and efficient.
